Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service is a non-profit corporation offering post-high school education to men and women interested in funeral service as a career.
The central purpose of the college is to give students a thorough acquaintance with those areas of knowledge essential to their specialization.  The college is dedicated to the advancement of funeral service education and the funeral service profession.  It is also dedicated to the ideals that all students:
reach their full potential through service to their fellow man,
develop a high self-enrichment by becoming vocationally, socially, and morally competent, and
improve self-discipline as they strive to accomplish their goals through individual effort and group cooperation.

Goals of the College

To provide a modern curriculum equitable for the advancement of funeral service education.
To fulfill our obligation to the community, students, graduates, and to the funeral service profession. 
To acquire and maintain high standards in academic subjects, basic skills, and techniques.
To provide each student with the opportunity to develop the technical skills necessary as a foundation for success in funeral service. 
To encourage students to take an active role in the programs of their communities and their places of worship. 
To develop in the students an appreciation of their responsibilities regarding moral and ethical conduct, reverence for the dead, protecting the public health, and showing proper dignity, sympathy, efficiency, and confidence as they serve their communities.
To create an on-going desire for professional growth through continuing education and graduate development.
To provide, and apply, a basic understanding of human behavior toward oneself and to others.
To develop a sense of responsibility toward the funeral service profession and to society.
To cooperate fully with the profession, its organizations and agencies, in any noble efforts which result in the advancement of the funeral service profession, licensing requisites, and research in the arts and sciences relative to the profession.
To encourage student and faculty research in the funeral service profession.
