
Lamnette Douglas is a proud alumna of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service Distance Learning Program, graduating as the Valedictorian of the May 2021 class. She is a native of Jacksonville, Florida earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Florida and her Master’s Degree from Grand Canyon University in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Douglas has over 15 years of both hands-on and online teaching experience in Duval County Public Schools, while serving on numerous curricula writing committees within the school district. She currently remains in the school district as a Regional English Language Arts Specialist, assisting administrators/teachers with understanding curriculum and standards, conducting professional development workshops, and providing instruction to fellow educators. She is excited to return to Gupton-Jones as an online instructor to provide quality instruction to the future licensed funeral directors and embalmers coming along through the distance learning program, as she did.
Mrs. Douglas is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, as well as a Licensed Insurance Agent for the state of Florida. She was led into the funeral industry by her husband, Quinton Douglas who is also a proud graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. They are the owners of Q. L. Douglas Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Florida.
